Series Preview: Detroit Tigers (6-2, 4-0A, .5 G B) At Houston Astros (3-7, 1-3 H, 2.5GB)

tigers vs astros

The Tigers continue on the road after taking 3 of 4, including 2 of 2 in Pittsburgh from the Pirates and trail only the White Sox and KC by a half game in what is shaping up to be a tough AL Central.  The offense continues to carry the team ranking in the top 6 in the Majors in key offensive categories.  Mike Pelfrey and Justin Verlander look to bounce back after terrible starts in their previous outings.

The Astros won’t be sneaking up on anyone this year, although off to a slow start and losing 3 in a row to the Royals.  The young promising offense hasn’t started to go yet, although rookie Tyler White and superstar to be shortstop Carlos Correa aren’t to blame.  The pitching howerver is to blame, where the team ranks in the bottom 6 in the Majors for things like earned run average, Whip, and average against.
