Keith Law updated his list of prospects and their assignments to start the season. Below is Law’s Top 10 Tigers prospects to start the season, which I find interesting as the team for the first time in a while has players in the upper minors on the list. The problem though is that most of these guys seem to be fringe players, other than maybe Moya (and McCann) at these levels. Here’s the list…
1. Derek Hill, CF (West Michigan-low Class A)
2. Kevin Ziomek, LHP (Lakeland-high Class A)
3. Steven Moya, RF (Toledo-Triple-A)
4. James McCann, C (MLB)
5. Buck Farmer, RHP (Toledo-Triple-A)
6. Austin Kubitza, RHP (Erie-Double-A)
7. Javier Betancourt, SS/2B (Lakeland-high Class A)
8. Tyler Collins, CF (Toledo-Triple-A)
9. Daniel Fields, CF (Toledo-Triple-A)
10. Dixon Machado, SS (Toledo-Triple-A)
ESPN’s Law, an expert in Baseball scouting and prospects ranks the Tigers system as the worst in baseball.
